Distribution of Altrusa Club Grant and Scholarship Monies
This year the Altrusa Club of the Central Coast Foundation has distributed $33, 103.00, to the following worthy organizations: GenSpan Foundation; St Peters Episcopal Church; Northern County Santa Barbara County United Way; Santa Maria High School Band; Alliance for Pharmaceutical Access, Inc.; Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum; Santa Maria Valley YMCA; Ralph Dunlap/Joe Nightingale Schools; North County Rape Crisis and Child Protection Center; Childrens Resource and Referral, Santa Barbara Family Care Center; Boys and Girls Club of Santa Maria Valley; McKenzie Junior High School; Santa Maria High School FFA; PCPA Foundation; Central Coast Literacy Council; Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse; and Santa Maria High School FFA, in addition to the $20,000 to the Santa Maria Public Library.
Altrusa Club of the Central Coast, Foundation, Inc. presented scholarships to Pioneer Valley High School for academics, vocational training and ASTRA community service; Santa Maria High School for academics, vocational training and Future Farmers of America; and, to Righetti High School for academics and vocational training. In addition to $5,000 committed for scholarship renewals.
The Foundation wishes to thank the public for providing funds for these organizations by participating in the Festival of Trees. Our Club looks forward to the continued support from the community.

Created in 1962, the Altrusa International Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit corporation which administers contributions received from Altrusa clubs, individual members and public donors. The foundation provides Altrusans with the opportunity to provide direct asistance to those in need. A worldwide volunteer service organization devoted to contributing to human well-being through the development and implementation of effective local community service programs, the Altrusa International Foundation, Inc. is dedicated to improving ecomomic well-being and the quality of life through a commitment to community service and literacy.
On belhalf of all Central Coast Altrusans, we have exemplified charitable diligence by helping thousands of children and seniors. We are responding to the rapidly chagnging needs of our community. Our funds are designated to Literarcy projects, Community Service projects and School assistance. Our ultimate goals is to leave a legacy to future generations of Altrusans to continue to support, to inspire, to involve and to be good citizens in the communities where they work and live.
